Phill's Duisburg
Well another international and another great weekend. As usual there were boat problems and drunken nights, just what racing is all about!
I had some small problems with my boat... My centre tab had given up the ghost without even touching the water for one. And after a slow start in my first heat i’d settled into a nice steady pace and was having no problems at all. Until Leon told me we’d just been asked to bring the boat in for being too loud. The noise limit for German races is 80dB and I was at 85dB. I had a small extension to my pipe that was aiming the exhaust at the water but not enough. So we went back out and just throttle where the noise police were sitting. Race ruined!
Te second heat was on finals day. The water was uber uber rough so having no tab meant more trouble for my tab-less T6. I’d put some more swimming noodles inside the engine bay (thanks Siguard!) to try and make it a bit quieter. And also put the water cooling out of the end of the exhaust. So come the race it was all about staying on the water, which with some heavy throttle infront of the pits to keep the noise down was working a treat until the boat just died on the water.
So no finals again. Hopefully all of my bad luck will be out of the way for the eliminators. Fingers crossed.
Thanks to all the organisers in Duisburg and it was great to see everyone.
